Art Trends
While doing some research, I discovered "a new trend in business is ready to explode. With art being cut from the high school curriculum, art workshops are the wave of the future." (quote from http://squidoo.com/rivkysart) If you're an artist or an organizer, why not start art workshops in your area? Great for children, high schoolers, or adult ages. Just find a few good teaching artists and some suitable space and get the word out about your workshops. There are lots of ways to promote the workshops, to partner with others (including schools or non-profits) to host or fill them, and you could even hold follow-on art events afterwards to showcase the resulting art!
Gone to the Dogs
I recently noticed a new kind of laundromat opened nearby. It's actually a self-service dog wash! No, there are not machines to throw your dogs into for washing & drying! But there are stations to lather up and spray down your dog in a much easier and less messy way than doing it in your bathtub or sink at home! Consider the possibilities of this in your neighborhood. Also consider what other products and services you could provide along with this to generate additional income.
Christmas Cleanup
It's getting time to think about taking down that Christmas tree and trying to clean up all the pine needles everywhere! What can you do to make cleaning up and storing of decorations easier? One idea I had was that special disposable Christmas tree bags should be sold with every Christmas tree. The bags are already made tree-sized and packaged to sell. Just search online to find wholesale sources. Perhaps you could plan to approach all the vendors in your area with your bundling package of just the right items to sell with each tree. Everyone wins big with add-on sales with value and convenience. Another idea is packaging and selling mistletoe - both to consumers through retail outlets and temporary Christmas tree vendors. Don't forget non-profits who sell trees as fundraisers! Then there is making your services available for lights installation and/or take down. Or how about packing or storing decorations?
